The Promise of a Big Surprise

Kelvin wasn’t a man for grand theatrical gestures.

His love for Chloe was measured in thoughtful, everyday acts…..remembering her coffee order, watching her favourite '80s sci-fi film (for the hundredth time !) , and secretly, plotting the one spectacular surprise of their lives !

Chloe’s favorite film, of course, was ‘Back to the Future’, her childhood dream was simple…..to ride in the DeLorean Time Machine !

Securing a genuine, immaculate UK-based DeLorean Time Machine replica became Liam’s mission !

Luckly a work colleague had recommended Sandstone Productions after booking them for a Corporate Event

So for six intense months he planned this fantastic surprise (all while maintaining the facade) that a very traditional, cream-colored saloon car was booked for the wedding day.

The planning was a secret shared only with his best man, Mark, who spent most of the lead-up in a state of perpetually excitement.

The morning of the wedding was beautiful. Liam, dressed impeccably, found himself checking his watch every five minutes.

The schedule was tight. The classic car was due at 11:00 AM. The DeLorean—code-named 'The Doc '—was due at 11:15 AM, just as the bridal party was supposed to be leaving the house.

At 11:10 AM, Liam heard the expected rumble of the traditional car arrive.

He smiled nervously, knowing that in moments, Mark would execute the crucial diversion. Mark, equipped with a tiny walkie-talkie and an award-worthy performance of wide-eyed panic, managed to distract the bride with a fabricated crisis—a missing veil,

At 11:17 AM, a low, distinct whine began to build outside the house.

It wasn't the roar of an engine; it was the hum of something mechanical, and futuristic !

When Chloe finally came downstairs, flawless in her dress and still flustered by the 'missing veil,' she stopped dead at the bottom step.

Parked perfectly on the gravel driveway, reflecting the Sun light like polished chrome, it was the DeLorean. It’s gull-wing doors stood proudly open, and the Flux Capacitor glowed with an eerie, steady light.

Chloe didn't gasp; she just went silent. Tears welled up as she saw the OUTATIME license plate.

She walked slowly toward the car, touching the cold, stainless steel paneling, a dream come true.

Liam stepped out from the doorway, not needing any theatrical costume or sci-fi quotes. He simply held out his hand.

"Keeping the secret for six months along with hidden emails," he said softly,

" I figured if we’re starting our future, we should start it in something that was built to last."

The ride to the ceremony was absolutely fantastic, what real dreams are made of, a memory of a lifetime was being made

It was a birthday surprise organised by my family. We went to Banana Wharf Hamble café where Mark, in full Marty McFly get up, arrived in his stunning replica Delorean from Back To The Future.

Every little detail was spot on even down to the correct colour coding of the cables. Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about both the film and the car.

It was a pleasure talking with him. We then went for a thrilling drive and everywhere we went the car drew a lot of attention.

Marks Delorean sounds stunning with its lovely deep rumbling V6, how the car should have sounded out of the factory; if you a petrol head, you’ll love it. We then returned to the café after a little photo shoot. It was a brilliant time that I will remember for ever.
